Projects

Since our inception the partnership has coordinated a range of projects to address the needs of the local communities.

All of our projects work differently and are offered in different communities – we don’t believe that one size fits all and that every area needs to work on the same project. We have more of a needs led approach to this area of work, offering projects in areas where the learners and, or providers have identified that they would benefit from exploring further.

Our approach always seeks to engage more and different adults and families in lifelong life-wide learning opportunities and to address issues of poverty and exclusion.

Working with our three target groups - families, older people, young adults we have been involved in delivering projects on gender equality, football and literacy, transitions from youth to adulthood, older learners in the arts, media literacy, creativity and connectivity.

The success of our Give Learning a Sporting Chance Project in 2005 has encouraged some parts of government  to run similar programmes-like the current sport and literacy project being run by the Big Plus.

The partners practice forums agree the projects with us for a five-year period but we are always looking for new ideas, and news ways to involve local communities so if you have an idea that you’d like to try or want to find out more call us for more information.

You could always join the practice group and help us design our next phase.
